Next Video: Step-by-step walk-through of how we created the conditions in this video.

As an online marketer, it’s important to always have your prospect’s and client’s experience in mind as you design your website. In general, you always want to make it EASY for your prospects and clients to accomplish their goals on your site, whether it’s finding the information they’re looking for or filling out your web form.

The new form builder has an incredibly powerful set of features designed specifically to help you create an easy, smooth experience for your prospects and clients on your website.

Without a doubt, more people will fill out a shorter form versus a long complicated one.

Using conditions, we’re able to hide a bunch of these fields and only display what’s relevant to the user at just the right time.

Show/hide fields

Want to reveal or hide fields (and content elements) based on people’s responses on other fields? For instance, if they selected that they have a dog in the “type of pet” field then you can set a condition that causes the “type of dog” field to be revealed as a result.

To add “show/hide” conditions...

  1. Click the conditions button within the button panel in the design tab
  2. Click ‘add rule’ to the right.
  3. Set what the field value must be in order to cause the subsequent field to be revealed or hidden. You can even set multiple different conditions, for instance you may only want to reveal the “Biggest dog-training challenge you’re facing” field if they indicate in the “Type of pet” field that they have a dog and if they indicate that they’re “having trouble” training their dog in the “How’s dog training going?” field.
  4. Set what should happen if the condition(s) are met.
  5. What field(s) should be shown or hidden if the conditions are met?
  6. Click save when you’re done.
  7. Test it on a hosted form to be sure it’s working correctly before you set people loose on it.

Redirect on Submit
Want to send respondents to distinct thank you page based on their responses to fields? Maybe you want separate thank you pages for dog-owners and cat-owners to give each type of prospect an experience that’s more relevant for them. Or maybe you sell home equity insurance, life insurance and car insurance. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could have people redirected to the right web page according to what type of insurance they say they’re looking to purchase? Now you can!

To add “Redirect on Submit” conditions...

  1. Click the conditions button within the button panel in the design tab.
  2. Click ‘add rule’ to the right of the “Redirect on Submit” rules area.
  3. Set what the field value must be in order to cause the person to be redirected to the specific ‘Thank You’ page. You can even set multiple different conditions for this.
  4. Indicate the URL you’d like people who meet the condition(s) redirected to as a result. Will you have people who’ve indicated that they are cat owners sent to your cat owner landing page, and those who’ve indicated that they are dog owners sent to their own dog-specific landing page? Note that you would need to create a separate rule for each if you want to do this.
  5. Click save when you’re done.
  6. Be sure to test it on a hosted form to be sure it’s working correctly before you set people loose on it.
